CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

GEM WAS SO hyped up about the fight that he could not be still. He paced across his cell restlessly after lights out, wondering if he was going to be able to sleep. He talked to Himself, anxious.

“Who should my targets be? I have to go after the right people to get in tight with the Alliance.”

“Are all the bosses going to be there? Or will they protect themselves?”

“I don’t know. I don’t know what usually happens.”

“Then I have to have more than one target. Primaries and secondaries. Even if the bosses are there, they will be protected. I’ll probably have to hit the others. People that give the Alliance a tactical advantage. People that the Other bosses rely on. Disable the bosses by disabling key men.”

Gem nodded to Himself. “Yeah, that’s it. That’s a good plan.”

Gem listed off some of the names that he could think of. He added a few more and then prioritized them.

Gem was surprised at some of the priorities in the end, but He had been watching and studying. Gem trusted Himself that those were the right priorities. Now Gem knew who to watch for in the yard, who to get close to when the time came.
